Telecom operators are confronted with the problem of optimal field placement of network elements - antenna sites and BSCs, in order to get the best area coverage with the minimal points of presence number.
In order to achieve their goal, telecom companies have to analyse traffic history for the area, to estimate bandwidth requirements and peak times. Also, each new site will impact the traffic on all neighbors, and this fact should be taken into account.
Our solution relies on Big Data algorithms to assess the network load for each cell site and to suggest optimisation strategies: new sites, more capacity on existing sites or a combination of both. This approach reduces implementation time and associated costs, by allowing the simulation of different scenarios apriori.
